Life in the fast lane, part 2.

We made it to Atlanta and so far, so good! The movers arrive today. When this week is over, The Nug will have slept in 5 places within 7 days: 10th street, four seasons, b-mama's house in Lexington, Katie and bob's house in Atlanta, and hopefully tonight in our new house here!! Woo hoo! Here are some scenes from the road.

Life in the fast lane, part 1.

We are moving to Atlanta. With a six week old. You heard me. We are crazy. House got packed on Monday and Tuesday, so since we technically had no place to stay, why not stay at the Four Seasons? And, Mr. Robbins, for $70 extra, would you like to get upgraded to a premium suite? Why yes we would, thanks for asking.

So The Nug got to spend his last night in DC at a swanky hotel. He's high maintenance. They brought him his own crib, diaper pail, bath toys and hippo spout cover, and get this - his own fridge to store his bottles! Seriously, this kid is getting spoiled rotten.

And because he loves the lap of luxury so much, he decided he didn't want to miss a second of it. He wanted to stay up all night long! As Parker Atherton would say, he rock-starred the place. So no one slept well, but at least the sheets were nice.

So now we are in the car. It's raining. We didn't leave till 11. Missed our first exit, almost got in a wreck, and once again, The Nug is resisting sleep.

It's going to be quite a week in the fast lane.

I love bjorning.

Aunt Bebop made up "bjorn" into a verb. It's really fun. The Nug falls fast asleep in the bjorn so it's a great way to get in a nap and get some exercise! He's been all over in the bjorn, bjorning. To the Capitol, Archives, Supreme Court, Taylor Sandwiches, you know.... All the great DC landmarks.

The adventures of Walker and Richard.

Walker and Richard are neighbors. Or maybe I should say, were neighbors until about 5pm today. They were born almost 3 weeks apart and gave had fun exploring Capitol hill together. Trips to Eastern Market, sports bars, walks, sandwiches, it's been fun! We even shared a nap in the Nap Nanny! We hung out with Walker and Liz for two days while our house was being packed. We will miss you, first friend!

A day in the life of The Nug

Given that today was our last Saturday in Washington before heading to Atlanta, we thought we'd make the most of it. Here are some snapshots.

Technically, the first pic is from last night, but it's too good to omit.

After breakfast lounging in bed with daddy.

Walking down the mall with a stop off at the Archives to see the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights.

An afternoon snack at the biergarten to say goodbye to some friends.

Dinner out on h street (where I screamed and screamed... Payoff for being such a stud all afternoon).

Sacking out at home watching the Clemson tigers beat maryland to hit 7-0 for the season.

Night night!
